Steroid Abuse In Major League BaseballDrug Abusers Continue To Damage America's Past TimeSteroids have reared their ugly heads in Major League Baseball over the past few years. The League needs to clean up its' act sooner rather than later.
Major League Baseball: here is a life lesson you need to take to heart and maybe, just maybe, things might change. Individuality Makes Us Who We AreIndividuality is what makes each and every one of us different. It makes us who we are. But it’s up to the individual to be responsible, to act accordingly and to abide by laws and amendments. Now, if only Major League Baseball Players can do the same. The ‘perception’ of Major League Baseball is not good. Steroids has reared its ugly head and has turned the sport into well, the butt of all jokes on late night talk shows. But what is damaging the game more than just the steroid allegations is the lying. Case in point: Rafael PalmeiroA long time first baseman in the league, Palmeiro, on national television, said publicly, that he did not abuse steroids. What happened? It was revealed later, that in fact, he did. Palmeiro, who had a remarkable Major League career, will now be known as a liar and a cheat. Oh, and a drug abuser. Everybody needs to be responsible for what they put in their body. If you cheat and you’re caught, then don’t hide behind big wig lawyers. Man up, admit to the dirty deed. Now, that’s easier said than done. If you are a big leaguer and you abused steroids, would you want to ruin your reputation by admitting what you had done? No. Honesty is the truest policyLet the cat out of the bag. Wouldn’t you rather be known as a steroid user rather than a liar? New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez admitted to steroid use. Reports surfaced that Rodgriguez, who is one of, if not, the best baseball player of this era, abused steroids during his time with the Texas Rangers a few years ago. Despite lying when asked by reporters numerous times before, Rodriguez decided to tell the truth that day. Mr. Rodriguez, despite what people may think of him now after admitting to drug use, made the right choice. He did not want to go down the same road as Palmeiro. Deep down, Rodriguez knew his ugly story will be revealed to the public sooner rather than later. Will Rodriguez Ever Be Truly Forgiven By The Public? He’s now hoping for forgiveness from the public. Will he get it? Time will tell. But most of all, I think he can now look at himself in the mirror and feel a sense of relief. For him, the lying has stopped. If only more players would do the same.
